About brass?

Brass is an alloy mainly composed of copper (Cu) and zinc (Zn), and it is named for its bright golden color. It has excellent mechanical properties, high strength and good plasticity, can withstand cold and hot processing, and is easy to be made into products of various shapes. Meanwhile, brass also has excellent corrosion resistance, wear resistance, as well as good electrical and thermal conductivity.

About The Brass FAQ

CNC Polyamide (PA) material FAQ

What is the difference between brass and red copper?

The differences between brass and red copper mainly lie in their composition, color, properties and applications.
1.Composition: Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc with elements such as lead and tin added. Red copper (pure copper) contains over 99.5% copper and almost no other alloying elements.
2.Color: Brass is golden yellow with a bright luster. Red copper is rose red and turns purple after surface oxidation.
3.Performance: Brass has high hardness and good wear resistance, but its plasticity and electrical conductivity are lower than those of red copper. Red copper has excellent electrical and thermal conductivity, is soft in texture and has good ductility, but its strength and hardness are relatively low.

Which is more suitable as a conductive material, brass or red copper?

Red copper is more suitable as a conductive material. Red copper (pure copper) has a copper content of over 99.5% and has excellent electrical conductivity.

What are the specific grades of brass parts?

ASTM/AISI brass grades:C21000.C22000.C2300.C26000.C36000.C44300. JIS brass grade:C2100.C2680.C3771. (GB/T) Brass grades:H96.H90.H85.H68.H62.H59

What factors affect the price of brass parts?

The price of brass parts is influenced by multiple factors, including basic elements such as raw materials and production costs, as well as dynamic variables such as market supply and demand, processing difficulty and additional services.

How long does it take to deliver samples of brass parts?

Customizing simple brass parts samples usually takes 1 to 3 days, while complex parts take 5 to 7 days
